Jerry Wayne Moody, Sr., age 72, of Rhome, formerly of Irving, Texas, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home. Born September 8, 1946 in Odessa, Texas, he was the son of the late Bart H. Moody and Dorothy Jean Anders Moody. He served in the United States Air Force and was an electrician and a construction contractor. He had attended Dallas Theological Seminary and had served as a minister for many years. He married Mavis Lindamood January 8, 1969 in Dallas. They lived in Irving until 1994. Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie O'Kelly, a sister Barta Krentz, a brother-in-law, Bobby Lindamood, Sr. and his parents, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mavis L. Moody of Rhome; a son Jerry W. Moody, Jr. and his wife Alexandra of North Richland Hills, Texas; daughters, Renee Engle of Irving and Laura Ibanez and husband Sal of Grand Prairie; a sister Yolanda Gregory and husband J. C. of Whitney; brother Thomas Moody and wife Maria; twelve grandchildren, Jay Boone, Taylor Moody, Payton Moody, Alexis Moody, Dimitri Moody, Rebecca Engle, Christopher Engle, Jennifer Engle, Donny Leath, Jr., Damion Ibanez, Darrion Joshua Ibanez, and Christian Ibanez; thirteen great grandchildren; extended family members including Guy Rennow and wife Ashley of North Richland Hills, their children, Alana and Elliott; Shuree Simmons and husband Lamar of Grand Prairie and their children Alexis, Briana, and Yasmine and three grandchildren; his wife's family including his mother-in-law Eula Fay Lindamood, sisters and brothers-in-law, Fran Lindamood of Bedford, Jerry Lindamood and wife Edie if Irving, Kayla Lindamood of Grapevine, Tim Lindamood of Irving and Jay B. Lindamood and wife Teresa of Irving; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, July 1, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. An escorted procession to the cemetery will leave Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday. SERVICES
