Jerry Frank Kelley, 78, a resident of Irving since 1979, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Dallas. Born November 12, 1943 in Savoy, Texas, he was raised in Anna, Texas. He was the son of the late Albert Lee Kelley and Opal Alta Phipps Kelley. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard and attended the University of North Texas. On June 15, 1979, he married Jean Preuss Sanders in Irving. He worked for 29 years as a partner and Vice-President of Sales for Goodwin Graphics in Dallas. The last 24 years he has proudly owned The Spirit Grille in Irving, Texas providing a social gathering place for family and friends that includes wonderful employees and customers. He had a tremendous love for his family, a passion for tractors, and enjoyed working the East Texas family property, Lonesome Pine. Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother A. H. Kelley, he is survived by his wife, Jean of Irving; three children, Donna Hanson of Austin, Michael Sanders and wife Lisa of Lumberton, Texas, and Patrick Shane Sanders and wife Vanessa of Kyle, Texas; nine grandchildren, Gregory Griffin, Skyler Sanders, Britlyn Sanders, Bailey Sanders, Trevor Fritts, Blakleigh Sanders, Ryan Kelley Sanders, Jme Blanchard, and Loreal Blanchard Richard; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Walden of McKinney and Doris Harralson of Waco; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway 75062.
