Obituary

Jeannie Carol Grauke Tayne is described by her family and friends as sweet and caring, filled with love and laughter, a great lady and a cancer survivor. To her husband of 57 years, she was his beloved and their years were filled with family, church family, traveling around the world, and precious moments alone together. To her children, she was mom. Kind, caring, encouraging, taught them well, and prayed unceasingly for them. She was so proud to be Gran to 5 grandchildren and in the last few years of her life had the opportunity to meet her first two great-grandchildren. More than anything, she wanted you to know about Jesus. Saved at the age of 10, she lived a life of faith and walked in the grace and mercy of her Lord. We celebrate her life as she enters into her eternal home in the presence of Jesus Christ. Jeannie was born on January 18, 1941 in Ballinger, Texas and grew up in San Angelo where she graduated from Central HS with the Class of 59. She then graduated from San Angelo Junior College in 1961 with an Associates Degree in English Literature working her way through college as a Secretary at Harris Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in various trios and small groups throughout her life. 20 years of retirement gave Jeannie the opportunity to RV around the country, travel around the world, cruise to many beautiful ports, and spoil grandchildren with fun outings, gifts, and many tea parties. She died peacefully on February 14, 2020 in Flower Mound, TX with her family around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph Chester and Maude Clark Grauke and her big brother, Gary. She leaves behind a family who will always adore her. Her husband, Bob Tayne of Flower Mound. Her children Rob and Karen of Coppell, and Wendy Lewis and Scott Evans of Denton. Her grandchildren Ethan and Hope, their daughters Lottie and Maggie of Dallas, TX, Devin Tayne of Bangkok, Thailand, Patrick Tayne of Berlin, Germany, Bailey Lewis of Denton and Abby Lewis of Richardson. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, 8001 Mustang Drive, Irving, TX 75063. Burial will be at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. SERVICES
