Funeral services for Jean Harper Showalter, 85, of Irving, TX will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1705 N. Irving Heights Dr. Irving, TX 75061. Burial will following at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Friends and Family may visit 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 17th at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving Chapel. Jean, daughter of Williams Henry and Stella Beatrice McElrath Forrester, was born September 12, 1938 in Williamston, South Carolina, she passed away July 13, 2024 in Irving, TX. Jean, affectionately called JeJe, was a shining example of love in action. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother to many within her family and outside her family. She worked for Deluxe Check Printers for 26 years and was a longtime member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Irving where she created lifelong friendships. With her servant heart, she welcomed all she met into her home, church and her life. Her positivity was contagious, and her love for family, parties, flowers and scrapbooking was evident in every detail. She gave selflessly, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. We'll miss her dearly, but her love will continue to inspire us. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Bobby Harper and her brother, Bob Adams. Left to cherish Jeans memory is her husband, Don Showalter; daughter, Terri Harper; son, Ricky Harper and daughter in law Tammy Harper; her precious granddaughter, Kristin Thomas and her husband Michael Thomas; her great grandchildren, Gentry Thomas and Hutton Thomas; her siblings, Jim Forrester, Henry Forrester, Sherry Leslie, Billy Forrester and John Dean "Butch" Forrester; and multiple nieces and nephews; step children, Kenneth Showalter, Doug Showalter, Sherry Showalter, Lewis Showalter & Michael Showalter and step grandchildren.
