Jane Ann "Janie" Milburn, age 73, native Texan and Irving resident, died January 21, 2019 in Denton, Texas. Janie was born April 20, 1945 in Abilene, Texas, the seventh and youngest child to Grady and Mildred Weir. Janie was very proud of her hometown of Abilene, she attended St. Joseph's academy and went on to earn her teaching degree from McMurry University. It was in her senior year at McMurry that she met the love of her life, Perry, on a blind date. They were married in May of 1967 and were one month shy of celebrating their 50th anniversary when Perry passed. Janie moved to Irving in 1971 and decided to be a stay- at- home mom to her three children. Her favorite career other than a devoted mother was working for Mrs. Joanne Bilby as her personal assistant. She worked for Mrs. Bilby for 29 years and loved every minute of it. She and Mrs. Bilby grew to be great friends and confidants. Janie will be remembered for her kind heart, gift of gab, joyful spirit, and Christ centered life. To know Janie was to love her. She never met a stranger and cared deeply for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her, especially by her family and grandkids who affectionately called her Gege. Janie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Perry, her parents Grady and Mildred Weir, brother Grady Weir, sister Shirleene Turner, sister Martha Lynn Weir, and brother Tom Weir. She is survived by her son Matt Milburn of Denver, CO; Mark Milburn and wife Renae of Dallas, TX; daughter Marci Tamplen and husband Randy of Corinth, TX; brother Kerry Weir of Buda, TX; and sister Mary Pat Featherstone of CA; and her four precious grandchildren who she adored Grayson and Jaden Milburn and Avery and Tad Tamplen. Special thanks to Heather DeBerry for her loving care and undevoted kindness to Janie and our family. Services will be held a Donnelly's funeral home on January 24, at noon, with visitation the hour prior from 11-12. Janie will be buried with her husband Perry at the DFW National Cemetery on Friday morning at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Janie's honor to the Alzheimer's Association. SERVICES
