Janette (Jane) Barnum Walker went home to be with her Lord Jesus at the age of 94 on January 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Jane was born December 30, 1927 in Clarks, Louisiana to Maggie Sue Jackson Barnum and M.H. (Bud) Barnum. Jane was the 2nd of 4 daughters and graduated at the age of 15 from Urania High School. She received her bachelors in education from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Jane had a passion for Jesus and her church. She was the last surviving charter member of MacArthur Blvd Baptist Church, formerly known as Carpenter Road Baptist Church constituted in 1957. She also had a special gift of teaching and spent her life ministering to others. She impacted the lives of many children and their families in her 30 plus years as a 3rd grade teacher at John Haley Elementary in Irving, TX. Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Robert "Bob" Walker, grandson Chad Steven Wells and sister Elaine Barnum Harris. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn Cook and Sue Kees of Urania, Louisiana, daughters Cynthia Dean Wells and husband Robert of Longview and Judith Sue Gentry and husband Mark of Prairieville, 4 grandchildren Jason Glynn Wells, Robert Walker Gentry, Melissa Sue Gentry and John Mark Gentry, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Visitation will be held from 2pm-3pm followed by the funeral at 3pm. Burial will be Monday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens at 11am. SERVICES
