Obituary

Jane Priddy Gardner passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. She was born September 2, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas to Laura Gainer Priddy and John Franklin Priddy. She graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, Texas and attended both Texas Woman's University and Texas Tech University before marrying her husband of fifty-five years, Blewett S. Gardner. She is survived by two children, Jeffrey S. Gardner and John (Jay) H. Gardner. Jane worked in Reservations Sales at American Airlines for ten years which afforded her the opportunity to travel to Europe, Central America, New Zealand and Australia. She was a talented craftsperson throughout her life mastering needlework, cross-stitch and knitting, among other disciplines. She was a voracious reader and her love of books was exceeded only by her love of family and pets. Jane was an active member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Irving, TX, where she served as Senior Warden on the Church Vestry and was a long-time member of the Altar Guild. Jane was a generous, compassionate person who was always ready to help in any emergency or crisis. She loved volunteering as a Reading Buddy at Lee Britain Elementary School in Irving, and supported many other causes with her time, treasure, and talent. Never one to shy away from telling a story or expressing an opinion, she was a life force and will be remembered for her self-deprecating sense of humor, caring, and compassion. The memorial service will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 516 S. OConnor Rd., Irving, TX, on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to St. Marks Episcopal Church, Irving, TX 75060
