James Allen Watkins, 80, went to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, October 3, 2021. James was a devoted church member of First Baptist Church in Irving for over 45 years. He was a generous and kind hearted man, always putting his family and others and their needs first. He was truly loved and blessed and will be missed by all. James was preceded in death by his parents, Lola Lynn and Norman Gilbert Watkins; two brothers, Bobby and Billy Watkins. Survivors include his wife Carolyn; sister Beverly; two daughters and their spouses, Thelissa and Carlos Martinez and Kim and Mike Fleming; four grandchildren, Madison, Anilisa, Meegan and Gracie; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 10:00 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the chapel of First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street in Irving. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Andrews Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. SERVICES
