James "Jim" Parker, age 83, of Irving, Texas, passed away August 2, 2020. He was born June 21, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Hood Parker and Lona Carter Parker. Jim was married to Billie Milton for 62 years and was a resident of Irving for 45 years. Jim attended Calvary Church in Irving. He was a Texas Tech Alum, attending a multitude Red Raider football games every season. Jim and Billie loved to travel. Jim especially enjoyed playing golf in such prestigious places such as the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland and Pebble Beach, California. He took pleasure in working with cattle at the family ranch. Jim is survived by his wife, Billie; his daughter, Cindy Parker of Irving; sister, Frances Page and husband Larry of South Carolina; brother, Hood Parker, Jr. and wife Jo of Snyder; granddaughter Chelsea Berry of Irving; great-granddaughter Danica Embry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends Monday, August 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, August 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church Chapel, 4401 State Highway 161, Irving, Texas, 75038 with a committal service following at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Drive, Denton, Texas, 76207.
