James was born February 2, 1938, to James Truman and Dora Lee Hollinghead.

He went to be with the Lord August 3, 2025, at the age of 87.

James was married to the love of his life Frances, and together they raised three children: Jamie, Terry and April.

James had the patience of Job - though, he didn't pass that on to his children. He could fix anything but a broken heart, and he would work on that.

James serviced proudly in the National Guard for eight and a half years as both a sniper and a medic. His skills extended far beyond service.

James was an auto technician and also, built and remodeled homes. He owned several businesses, including Star Automotive and A-1 Builders.

In his younger years, James loved racing on the circle track, playing the guitar at his church, fishing and collecting Aladdin lamps and depression glass. He loved going to Canton First Mondays and could out walk anyone there - even while suffering from kidney stones.

James was a steady lighthouse for his daughter April during some of her darkest times. His love, his wisdom grounded, and his presence a source of safety.
