JACK EUGENE JONES, age 87, a resident of Irving for 59 years, went to be with the Lord, December 3, 2016. Born July 11, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Harvey M. Jones and Jessie Jackson Jones. Jack was a Nursing Home Ombudsman for the State of Texas and a member of Gateway Church of Southlake; previously of Plymouth Park Baptist Church of Irving. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry L. Jones; brother, Burdean Jones; and sister, Maisle Reed. Survivors include wife of 61 years, Patricia of Irving, Texas; daughters, Candace Samples of Irving; Cheryl Rutherford and husband Aldon of Coppell; son, Paul H. Jones of Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Dearden, Matthew Samples, Paul Samples, Jacob Dunaway, and Hannah Rutherford; great grandchildren, Ryan Dearden, Jack Dearden, Brady Samples, Elli Samples, Silas Samples, Otto Samples, and one on the way. Funeral service were held at Calvary Church in the Chapel, 4401 N. Hwy. 161, Irving, Texas on Saturday, December 10. Jack is buried at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Gateway Church of Southlake.
