J. B. HOUGHTON, JR., age 89, of Irving, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Baylor Medical Center of Irving. Born September 18, 1923 in Ranger, Texas, he was an accountant for Henry C. Beck Construction Company for over 22 years. He married Mary H. Pitchford November 9, 1946. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ernest, Bill, and Jim, survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Randy Houghton of Denton; a daughter, Pamela Ronck and husband Keith of Southlake; four grandchildren, Brian Davisson and wife Aneela of New York City, NY, Stephanie Syler of South Carolina, Matthew Ronck and wife Stephanie of San Antonio, and Jessica Ronck of Austin; two great grandchildren, Landry Syler and Parker Syler. Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (Lane A); a memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street in Irving. There is no formal visitation prior to the service but viewing will be available at the funeral home 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, or friends may call at the family home.
