Iris H. Grimaldo, 87, a resident of Irving, died February 17, 2012 in Fort Worth. Born March 20, 1924 in Chicago, IL, to Manuel and Eldora Hernandez, she was a teacher at both the Creative Learning Center of Dallas and Redeemer Montessori School in Irving. A Roman Catholic she was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include daughter, Irene Hooper of Hurst; grandchildren, Cindy Pope and husband Darryn of Hurst, Heather Hooper of Dallas, and Michael Hooper of Irving; and a brother, Carlos Mendez of Oak Cliff. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
