Obituary

Imagean Stripling also known as a Woman of God, Daughter of the King, and a Mighty Prayer Warrior passed on January 26th, 2021 after 73 blessed years. She was born on February 22nd, 1947 in Ennis, Texas and was the daughter of Robert Emory and Ruth Marie Culver Oliver. Ima attended Ennis High School and then went on to be a woman of many trades. She worked for Premier Jewelry, Harland Printing Company, truck driver for DFW Airport and eventually found her calling as an Activity Director at Senior Living Facilities. She decided to go back to school and received a Certification in Private Home Health Care. Her heart was fulfilled by caring for others while encouraging them to their end of life. Her heart was big and she loved big. She was an amazing mother of 3 daughters and loved them more than life itself. She was an inspiration to all that knew her. She had a huge personality and loved to flirt and joke around. When she walked into a room she never went unnoticed. A ray of sunshine and loved to be the center of attention. She rededicated her life to the Lord and became the best witness for the Lord and never wavered in her faith. She became an Ordained Minister, volunteered as a Chaplain and was involved in Prison Ministries. She would find any opportunity to pray a blessing to others.... it didn't matter if it was at a gas station, a drive thru, a hospital, or a doctors appointment. She was a true Warrior and knew exactly what her purpose was on this earth. She also never missed an opportunity to stop to thank and pray with a military person, Fireman or a Police Officer. She was very patriotic and loved her Red, White and Blue. In her younger years she loved participating in Chili Cook-Offs with her friends and was never seen without a bandana around her neck. She loved dressing up for Halloween and always in her own homemade costumes. She enjoyed attending Ennis' BlueBonnet & the Polka Festivals in her hometown. Ima found much joy in participating with the Red Hat Society, and the fun attire that came along with it. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy and she was their fun, cool and crazy granny with a young heart. She loved to peel out in her Red Ford Pickup Truck just to see their faces light up. She enjoyed teaching the biblical meaning of colors, numbers, visions and the Holy Ghost handshake to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. You can ask any of them what her favorite saying was and they would tell "I love you the mostest" followed by "I got you first." Her daughters have fun and fond memories of shopping for a Christmas tree every year and then having it flocked even though there was no extra money to do this. Another fun tradition at Christmas was her showing up with lots of totes filled with gifts. They could be new or used, she wasn't the traditional buyer. Let me tell you the fight was on for the gifts. Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas she made sure we all gathered together and held hands and verbally spoke what we each were thankful for. She always wanted to hear the blessings in each other's lives. Ima was a true firecracker yet unforgettable and a loving person who will be dearly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Emory Oliver and Ruth Marie Oliver; brothers, Bobby Oliver, Jerry Oliver, Jack Oliver, Thomas Oliver; sisters, Geraldine Witherspoon, and Jessie Sain; niece, Debra Stanton; and nephew, Ricky Oliver. Ima is survived by her loving daughters, Kim Baker, Terrie Chandler and husband, Chuck, Katrina Welborn and husband, Craig; grandchildren, Crystal Cox, Brittney Lucas, Alexis Baker, Trey Chandler, Taylor Chandler, Torie Chandler, Krista Welborn, Tasia Welborn, Bubba Welborn; great grandchildren, Ethan Najjar, Evan Cox, Titus Cox, Bryan Ledbetter, Ella Harper, Kaci Gresham, Renessmae Robbins; siblings, Charline Eastman, Gene Oliver (her twin), Larry Oliver, Dickie Oliver, and Fred Oliver. The family would like to extend their gratitude and a special thank you to Ruth with Calvary Home Health, Sharon with Home Health Instead, as well as, all the Caregivers at the Fresenius Kidney Collin County Dialysis Center.
