HORACE HUDSPETH, age 89, a resident of Irving since 1952, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at home. Born March 1, 1923 in Winnsboro, Texas, he was the son of Charles Alvin Hudspeth and Dema Smith Hudspeth. Horace was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea. He was employed at LTV as an account manager for 40 years and was a member of Oak View Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by his first wife of almost 50 years, Margie Elaine Fain in 1994, he is survived by his wife, Myrel P. Arthur; son, Steve Hudspeth and wife Laura; daughter, Jeane Webb, all of Irving; 5 grandchildren, Scott, Tony, Rene, Jason and Cody; uncle, Billy Ray Smith; step-children, Roland Arthur of Irving and Sharlene Bush of McKinney. Service is 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23 at Oak View Baptist Church, 1004 South Story Road, Irving with Rev. Wallace Philpot and Dr. Jim Gerlach officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service.
