HOLLIS HOWARD DEAN, age 90, a resident of Irving since 1953, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at a local care center. Born October 29, 1923 in Oklahoma, he was the son of Bryant Hubbard Dean and Clara Myrtle Hutchins Dean. He married Martha Kathryn Pittman May 25, 1942 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 2003. He attended TCU, Dallas Baptist University and later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, worked in the aerospace industry and later was in administration at Vought Aircraft. After retiring from Vought, he volunteered for many years at Baptist Benevolent Ministries of Irving. He was a 61 year member of First Baptist Church of Irving where he served as a Deacon. He married Darcille Blevins in 2005. She preceded him in death in 2009. Survivors include a son, Byron Howard Dean and his wife Debra Darlene of Irving; two daughters, Betty Louise Bird and husband Herschel of Frisco and Linda Gayle Proctor and husband Vernon of Irving; eleven grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren with two more soon to be born; and Darcilles daughters, Pam Kearnes of Fort Worth and Patricia Dolgener of Cleburne. The family will receive friends 6:30 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street in Irving. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
