HENRY PRIDE McKNIGHT, age 85, a resident of Irving, Texas for 30 years, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Irving. Born October 1, 1925 in Horatio, Arkansas, he was the son of Ray McKnight and Ruth Pride McKnight. Henry served in both the U.S. Navy and Army. He was a computer programmer at the City of Garland for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Barbara McKnight, they married on October 2, 1976 in Dallas; daughters, Brenda Horton of Irving, Marsha and Steve Logan of Fort Worth; sons, Ray McKnight and Daniel McKnight; grandchildren, Steve Horton, Lisa Reed, Donovan Parker and John Downey; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Ray McKnight; and sister, Barbara Sweeney. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2011 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Billy Taylor officiating. Graveside service was 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
