Helen Genevieve LaBarre, age 77, of Springfield, Massachusetts, died Friday, December 6, 2012 in a Grapevine care center. Born March 1, 1935 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Joseph Betournay and Alma Granger Betournay. She married Robert LaBarre June 13, 1955 in Massachusetts. She lived in Massachusetts most of her life, coming to Texas to be near her son five years ago. She was Catholic. Preceded in death by her husband in 1989, she is survived by two sons, Stephen LaBarre and wife Antoinette of Irving and James LaBarre and wife Sharon of Savoy, Massachusetts; two grandsons, Michael and Daniel and one granddaughter, Aubrey, all of Irving; three sisters, Blanche Cartier and Germaine Boudreau, both of Chicopee, Massachusetts and Estelle Tetreault of Granby, Massachusetts; and a brother Henry Betournay of Chicopee, Massachusetts. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. An additional memorial service and inurnment will be later in Massachusetts with her husband. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the SPCA.
