HELEN ELIZABETH HARDEGREE, age 85, of Clarksville, Texas, formerly of Irving, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 in Clarksville. Born January 17, 1927 in Clarksville, she was the daughter of James Nicholas Athas and Lizzie Alice Rider Athas. She married Larry G. Hardegree February 17, 1952 in Clarksville, Texas. They moved to Irving in 1958. She worked in the Irving Independent School Districts Administration office from 1972-1989. She had been a member of the Northgate United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband September 24, 2011, she is survived by her daughter Sharon G. Holstlaw and husband Randy of Evergreen, Colorado; a son, Brad P. Hardegree and wife Christine of Longmont, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Justin D. Hardegree and wife Anneleise of Thornton, Colorado, Jeremy K. Hardegree of Irving, Texas, Catelyn M. Holstlaw and Christopher M. Holstlaw of Evergreen, Colorado, Alex Hardegree, Elizabeth R. Hardegree, Catheranne T. Hardegree, and Brandon D. Hardegree all of Longmont, Colorado. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 W. Airport Freeway in Irving, Texas. Rev. Sammy Hargrove will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimers Association.
