HELEN MARIE GILL, age 75, a resident of Irving, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at her home. Born May 23, 1936 in Hancock, Michigan, she was the daughter of Elmer Albert Koplin and Esther Amelja Halonen Koplin. She married James (Jim) Gill on May 19, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. She and her husband owned Gill Distributing for 10 years and retired from Aetna after six years of service. They enjoyed traveling on cruises, going to Branson for shows, and to Winstar for the penny slots. She spent time in the swimming pool with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to do arts and crafts around the house. Preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dianna Most and brother, Carl Koplin, survivors include her husband, Jim of Irving; son, Mike Gill of Bedford; daughter, Debbie Jacobson and husband Mike of Mesquite; six grandchildren, Dacia, Amy, Amanda and husband Agustin, Rachelle and husband Chris, Amber and husband Adrian, and Michael; six great grandchildren, Aguie, Gabriel, Isabel, Kaleb, Alisander, and Julia; father-in-law, John Gill, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jerry and wife Monica Gill. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
