HAROLD G. AIKIN, age 80, a resident of Irving since 1952, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at home. Born September 27, 1931 in Needmore, Texas to Alva M. and Merle Faye Wells Aikin, he married Claudette Moore on June 30, 1951 in Dallas. Harold was a very generous soul who always gave generously without any intent of repayment. He was a construction superintendent his entire career and a member of the Baptist church. Preceded in death by his parents and son, Walter Murray Aikin in 1974, survivors include his wife, Claudette; daughter, Marlene Scholari and husband Joe of Grand Prairie; son, Matthew Alex Aikin of Irving; grandchildren, Jennifer Simmons of Arlington, Jason Simmons of Irving and Courtney Scholari of Carrollton; great grandson, Julian Dunson of Arlington. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Service is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 25th at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jim Gerlach officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
