Harlan E. Willhelm was born May 30, 1932, in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Samuel "Jack" and Alma Mitchell Willhelm and the brother of Kenneth Willhelm. Harlan retired from Dallas Power & Light Company in 1992 where he began working in 1949. Throughout his life, he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Harlan was an avid outdoorsman. Beginning at an early age, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In retirement, he took up wood-working, where he created loving gifts for his family and friends. His greatest gift, however, was his ability and his willingness to attend to the needs of others; to offer a helping hand, either time or service, to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his wife of 63 years, Bobbie Altom Willhelm.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Robert Willhelm and wife Ningrum, Belinda Wisnoski and husband Gene, Teresa Palermo and husband Keith. Eight grandchildren: Shane Willhelm, Samudra Willhelm, Nathan Wisnoski, Leanna Deyo, Stefan Wisnoski, Gabrielle Porti, Marissa Palermo, Vincent Palermo; ten great-grandchildren: Tatum, Kyler, Thomas, Jackson, Eugene, Lily, Laurel, Layla, Reid, and Callum.
