Obituary

Saturday July 10th, 2021, Glenda DeArmon Gilliam went to be with her Lord and Savior after a long battle due to complications caused by Covid. Glenda was the oldest of 3 sisters "the DeArmon girls" who grew up together on their family farm located in Bellmead, just outside of Waco, Texas. She met Larry Gilliam, her husband of 65 years where he was working at the family business, Gilliams Grocery Store. In 1955 she graduated from LaVega High School and married Larry in 1956. She went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts from Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas. She was a teacher and librarian for 30 years. Preceding her in death are Glendas parents, Dommie "Daddy Dee" DeArmon and Vanus "MeMo" DeArmon. What a deeply joyous reunion they are now having. Survivors include her husband Dr. Larry Gilliam of Irving, TX; daughters Valerie Barnett and Stephanie Albright both of Irving, TX; grandson Zachary Barnett of Richardson, TX; granddaughter Hannah Albright of San Antonio, TX; sisters Kay DeArmon Jennings and Yeada DeArmon Gunter, both of Wichita Falls, TX; nephew Rodney Jennings of Wichita Falls, TX: niece, Tracie Bowman of Holliday, TX; and sister-in-law Dr. Vicki Gilliam of Granbury, TX.
