GEORGE J. WALLO, JR., age 83, of Dallas, formerly of Irving, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at a Plano nursing facility. Born December 30, 1928 in Jessup, Pennsylvania, he was the son of George Wallo, Sr. and Helen Gorrel Wallo. A 20 year Navy officer, he worked for the U S Postal Service for ten years before retiring. A fourth degree Knight of Columbus, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Hudson. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Kishel Wallo; daughter Daren Wallo Rogers and husband Les of Dallas; a son Geroge Wallo, III of Hurst; and three grandchildren, Donnie Hudson, Jr., Jennifer Hall and Samantha Wallo. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving with the Rev. Monsignor Jerome Duesman officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the service. Entombment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas. The family suggests memorials to a childrens charity.
