GEORGE R. MARTIN, age 83, a resident of Irving, Texas for 41 years, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his home. Born January 31, 1927 in West Sweeden, WI, to August William And Alvina Peterson Martin, he married Patsy Ann Williams August 27, 1960 in Vashti, TX. A career Air Force veteran, he retired at Senior Master Sergeant. He worked for Stewart and Stevenson Services, Inc. in Dallas for 20 years. Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patsy, November 30, 2009 and three brothers, Joseph, Floyd, and Alex, he is survived by daughters Beth Hindman and husband Brian of Irving and Connie Ruiz and husband Armando of Sulphur Springs, TX; a son Wesley Martin of Irving; eleven grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister Doris Lindquist and sister-in-law, Edna Martin, both of Frederic, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak View Baptist Church, 1004 S. Story in Irving. Rev. Wallace Philpott will officiate Graveside service 2:30 p.m. at Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, TX with Brad Edge officiating.
