FRANCES LAVILLE GESFORD JOHNSON. Born September 27, 1931 in Lufkin, Texas to Felix Jackson Gesford and Allie Myrl Clark Gesford. Died December 19, 2014 in Irving, Texas. Survived by: children, Patsy Johnson Crawford and her spouse, Brad Crawford (Lewisville), Charles Johnson (Irving) and Wanda Johnson Halcom (Lewisville); one grandson, Cody Crawford (Frisco).
Frances retired from Sears on Lamar in Dallas after 27 years in the office on the 9th Floor. Her beloved husband John died in October of 1991. She missed him so much almost the whole first year he was gone she sat out by his grave every day. She and Wanda kept fresh flowers for the season in his vase. She stayed busy by feeding her family some of the best meals ever eaten, traveling with her children and attending bingo games or anything conducted by the Irving Heritage Senior Center including the Miss Mature Irving Pageants every October. We had so much fun the last year or two when her best friend, Bitsy Wrinkle, moved back here from Arkadelphia, Arkansas and we went to visit other Sears retirees for a meal and good fellowship. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and we take great delight knowing that her first Cowboy game in Heaven was won by a large margin. Her favorite AND most dreaded time of the year is Christmas. She started dialysis last Spring and fussed all the way home every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday about ever even starting dialysis. Otherwise, we never heard her fuss or curse she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She loved Southern Gospel music and never missed a chance to go to a Singin. Her favorite group was The Huckaba Family from right here in Irving. Her last birthday party was held at Art in the Vine where we all painted an old barn in a field of bluebonnets and we had ice cream; cake and presents! She was surrounded by friends and family and we have many great pictures from that day. She is now being surrounded by friends and family again but this time, our hearts are broken.
