FLOY A. "SHORTY" LENINGTON, 87, of Dallas, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home. Born February 16, 1923 in Miller Grove, Texas, she was the daughter of James B. Johnson and Fannie Junell Johnson. She had been a realtor, cab driver, caretaker, property manager, and worked many positions at the Baker Hotel for 30 years. A country musician, she enjoyed the fiddle, mandolin and any stringed country instrument. A gardener, she was famous for her black-eyed peas. She loved all four legged creatures and had many cats and dogs over the years. She "spoiled" her family with her unconditional and abundant love. Survivors include a daughter Carolyn Howard of Dallas; a son, John Lenington of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7:00 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. A graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grove Hill Cemetery, 3920 Samuell Blvd. in Dallas.
