ELAINE SHACKELFORD, age 74, a resident of Irving for 48 years, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at a local care center. Born August 19, 1937 in Celeste, Texas, she was the daughter of J. W. Spoonemore, Sr. and Eula Mae Rudd Spoonemore. She married Garland Wayne Shackelford August 17, 1962 in Dallas. Survivors include her husband, Wayne; sons, Bryan Shackelford and wife Terri of Keller and Michael Shackelford of Irving; daughters, Tracy Jones and husband Steve of Irving, and Kelly Davis and fiance Chad of Flower Mound; six grandchildren, Chelsea Jones, Ashley Davis, James Shackelford, Allison Jones, Daniel Shackelford, and Christopher; a brother, J. W. (Bud) Spoonemore, Jr. and wife Shirley; and a nephew, Scott Spoonemore, wife Sacha and daughter Hadley. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Jones. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Monday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
