EDWIN S. SCHAFER, JR., born June 21, 1928, in Dallas, Texas, passed away March 12, 2011 in Irving, Texas at age 82. Ed was a retired Operations Manager for Murray Management Corp. He owned and operated his own business, The Maintenance Co. for 43 years. He has served our city through the Irving Community Development Corp. since 1999. He is a charter member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church, a deacon, and has taught adult Bible Study for over 50 years. Ed was proud of his family and leaves the legacy of a son and a grandson in the pastoral ministry. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Schafer; son Rev. Eddie Schafer and wife Rochelle; grandsons Rev. Steven Schafer and wife Linsey; Michael Schafer, and Nathan Schafer; numerous nieces and nephews. Ed lived his life well, in service to the Lord. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday.
