Edward De La Garza Solis, 70, a resident of Irving, Texas for fifty-one years, peacefully passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 28, 1951 in Dallas, Texas and the son of the late Salomon Solis and Santos De La Garza Solis. He grew up in Dallas and married his beautiful wife, Josephine Sanchez July 25, 1970 in Dallas. He was an automobile painter for over 25 years, but more importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He was an accomplished guitarist, and had been taught by his father Salomon. His father, Edward, and his brother Daniel all played for several bands over the years. Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra Solis Reznicek; and a brother, Daniel Solis; he is survived by his wife Josephine of Irving; a daughter Irene Solis of Irving; son, Eric Solis and wife Ada of Grapevine; daughter, Kathy Martinez of Irving; sister Mary Ann Solis Munger of Irving; three grandchildren, Lexie Martinez, Nikko Solis, Zoe Solis; and three great grandchildren, Preston Shelley, Oakland Wilson, and Taelynn Wilson. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home of Irving, 606 West Airport Freeway 75062. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 Wildwood Lane in Grapevine, 76051. Burial will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Parkway, Colleyville, TX 76034. A reception will follow the cemetery service at Saint Francis Hall. 861 Wildwood Lane in Grapevine.
