Eddie Vernon, 66, of Irving, died Tuesday, February 4th at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Irving. He was born October 17, 1953 to the late Emanuel Townsend Vernon, Jr and Eddie Mae Price Vernon in Dallas, Texas. Eddie was a resident of Irving most of his life. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University and was a School Counselor at the Cardwell Career Preparatory Center/ Irving Independent School District and a member of First Baptist Church in Irving. He is survived by his brother, Emanuel "Butch" T. Vernon, III and wife Angela of Stuart, Florida; sisters, Cheree Johnson and husband Tim of Argyle, Texas, Chrystal Scott and husband Shawn of Savannah, Texas; nieces and nephews, Sarah Swartz and husband Jonathan of Dallas, Jacob Vernon and wife Carmina of Dallas, Samuel Joseph Johnson and wife Caitlyn of Argyle, Caleb Johnson and wife Courtney of Denton, Terrin Talley and husband Jacob of Collinsville, Texas; seven grand nieces and nephews, Matthew, Ripley, Blythe, Joe, Hadley, Braxton and Taylor. Family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2020 from 7:00 9:00p.m. at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 403 S. Main Street, Irving, Texas.
