EDDIE P. VERNON, age 90, a resident of Irving for 66 years, formerly of Nocona, Texas, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at her home. She was born April 17, 1922 in Belcherville, Texas to Ed Price and Katie Bond Price. Eddie was a member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School class, in Irving. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, E. T. Vernon, Jr., she is survived by her children, Emanuel Vernon, III and wife Angela, and Ed Vernon, all of Irving, Cheree Johnson and husband Tim of Roanoke, Chrystal Scott and husband Shawn of Hickory Creek; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and niece, Rita King of Arlington. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Branam officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
