Dorothy R. Wright, age 92, a resident of Irving for 64 years died Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Irving, Texas. Born March 12, 1926 in Muenster, Texas, she was the daughter of John Rohmer and Mary Hesse Rohmer. Dorothy married her wonderful husband, Morton Wright on May 29, 1954. She was a charter member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. She was a member of the Altar Guild, the Resurrection Choir, and the Catholic Daughters of America. In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked as a switchboard and elevator operator and worked for the Irving Independent School District. She also volunteered at the Irving Community Hospital. Dorothys family was very dear to her, she loved her precious grandchildren, enjoyed listening to music, playing Bunco, and flowers gave her joy. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse of 60 years, Morton, her daughter, Mary Lou, and son, Dennis Charles Wright and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sister, Sister Romana Rohmer, sons, Michael Wright and spouse Wanda of Bedford, James Wright of Irving, Carl Wright and spouse Ester of Lubbock, three granddaughters, Angela Clanahan, Kathryn Wright, and Heather Wright, step grandchildren Anthony and Kenny Esquivel, and step great grandchildren, Alli and Michael Esquivel, and great grandson Ezekiel Wright. A visitation will be held from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church 2323 Cheyenne in Irving. Burial to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
