Dorothy Ann
Roberts
May 2, 1934 — Oct 31, 2025
Dorothy Ann Roberts, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on October 31, 2025.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Dorothy 'Dot' was born in Erath County, Texas, on May 2, 1934, to James Eugene Gauny and Eunice Lorene Reese. After graduating from Ralls High School, she married the love of her life, J.T. Roberts, on April 22, 1955. Dorothy's life was a testament to her deep faith and love for her family. She was a longtime and faithful member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and found great joy in attending services.
As a young woman, she embraced her cowgirl roots and loved participating in rodeos. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, J.T., and playing bingo with friends. Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker and loved sewing and quilting. Everyone loved her beautiful and eccentric hats, almost as much as she did.
She is preceded in death by her husband J.T, her parents, and her sisters, Reba Rice and Pauline Smith and numerous other family members.
Dorothy's legacy of love continues through her surviving family. She leaves behind her three children: Eddie Roberts and his wife, Lucy; Sharon Roberts Haney and her husband, Charles; and James Roberts. She was a proud grandmother to Paul Roberts and his wife, Ashley; Philip Roberts; Carrie Cody and husband Darrin; Elizabeth Thrailkill; Charles Haney; Derek Haney and wife Sariea, Chad Haney and wife Caylee, and Christopher Haney. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren.
Dot will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
