DOROTHY E. HOWELL, age 92, a resident of Irving, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Baylor Medical Center in Irving. Born March 29, 1922 in Petrolia, Texas, she was the daughter of J. F. Byas and Lora Priscilla Cowan Strickland Byas. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Irving, the Irving Historical Society and Bona Fide. She was also an Irving Selfcare volunteer at Baylor Medical Center-Irving for 35 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Randy Howell in 1984, survivors include her son, John Howell; daughter, April Howell; granddaughters, Ashley Howell and Erin Howell; and great grandson, Zane Howell. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8 at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street in Irving. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
