Donna Lucas, 69, of Irving, TX, born May 22, 1940 in Yankton, SD to Lenard and Velma Young was called home to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2010. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lucas and survived by daughters and sons-in-law Justine and Kevin Black, Sherilyn and Robbie Johnson both of Irving, TX and Robyn and Danny Lovell of Flower Mound, TX. She was lovingly known as Grandma or G-Ma by her grandchildren Joshua and Kristina Black, Brent Black, Karrah Black, James Johnson, Chandler Johnson, Ashley Lovell, Jessica Lovell, Lucas Lovell, Rocio Lopez and great-grandson Evan. Donna was also survived by her sister and brothers-in-law, Mary and Thomas Schoeffler of Arlington, TX and Kent Lucas along with nieces and nephews Jeanene Lucas, Stephanie and Tony Mourmouris, Evyenia Mourmouris, Lukas Mourmouris all of Austin,TX along with Janet Schoeffler, Jill de Jonckheere and Tommy Schoeffler all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Donna committed her heart, life and future to Jesus Christ and she influenced countless young lives with her counsel in her 27 years of service at North Lake College, retiring as Assistant Director/Registrar of the admissions office. She returned part-time to work at the North Lake DFW Center for 4 years. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by family and friends. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 8 pm at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 W. Airport Freeway (183), Irving, TX 75061. Funeral services will be held to celebrate Donna's life 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2505 West Northgate Drive, Irving, Texas 75062, with a graveside service immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Donna was a woman of integrity, honor, a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She loved her family immediate and extended, including the many young people whom she considered as one of her own. Donna was a role-model to many. She loved, served, and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and entered the presence of her Lord with joy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Irving, Texas or The North Texas Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
