Donna Kay Gutermuth was born May 5, 1946, in Anthony, KS and died peacefully surrounded by love on December 24, 2023, in Irving, TX.
Donna was many things to many people; kind, loving, generous, hilarious, caring, sweet, funny, and amazing. She was a hairdresser by trade, so she was able to share her lovely heart with many. Numerous people have reached out to say how much they loved our Mama. She was very special. She was so very present in her life and made everyone around her feel special and loved. She said so many times that her life was a gift. Mama lived her "gift" with a heart full of gratitude and love and gave that love freely and fully. Even when life gave her lemons (and she was given a whole bushel the last few years) she chose happiness and did it with that optimistic, beautiful smile of hers. She was everyones hero. If gratitude and happiness were the key to life, Mama would have lived forever.
As her children, we understand what an incredible privilege it was to have been raised by a woman who never walked past us without touching, and never let "I love you" go unsaid. She taught us joy, positivity, being generous with love, and to never take ourselves too seriously. Lord, she could make us laugh!
Donna is preceded in death by her father and mother, Bobby & Imelda McDonald; sister, Ann Halcomb; and great-nephew, Michael Pfrimmer. Donna is survived by her children: Michael & Ellen Gutermuth, Terri & David Taul, and Tawn & Brittany Gutermuth; sisters & brother: Bobbie Pfrimmer, Linda Carter, and Dean & Karen McDonald; grandchildren: Bobby Chapman, Rachael & Julianne Gutermuth-Mayers, Steven & Buzzy Chapman, Sierra & Byron Whitted, Matthew & Melinda Gutermuth, Lilly Chapman, Abby & John George, Alex Gutermuth and Jack Gutermuth; great- grandchildren: Emily, Mia, Rowan, Lukas, Sylvia, and Braxton; as well as numerous much-beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and grand-dogs. (She loved everyone!)
