DONALD GARDNER, age 79, a resident of Irving, Texas for 51 years, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 in a Dallas hospital. Born June 8, 1927 in Rector, Arkansas to Russell and Ruth Chapman Gardner, he married Joanne Evans January 6, 1950 in Dallas. He was employed by Yellow Freight System for 41 years, retiring in 1991. Donald was a member of MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church in Irving for 48 years and served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife Joanne; daughter, Debra Gardner Gregg and husband Dan of Fort Worth; son, Gregory Donald Gardner and wife Melody of Mt. Penn, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Danna Whatley and husband Aaron of Fort Worth, Joanna Gregg of Atlanta, Georgia, Leah Gregg of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Donald Samuel Gardner, Charlotte Grace Gardner and Peter Gregory Gardner, all of Mt. Penn, Pennsylvania. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home. Service 12 noon, Monday, November 20, 2006 at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church.
