Dolores Olvera
Rojo
Dec 21, 1971 — Apr 7, 2025
We gather here today to celebrate the life and legacy of a beloved daughter Dolores Olvera Rojo, known affectionately as Doey to all who cherished her, was called to her eternal home on April 7, 2025, when her heart, full of love and joy, ceased its earthly beat. Born on December 21, 1971, to the proud parents Eduardo Olvera Jr. and Virginia Olvera, Doey blossomed into a radiant soul whose warmth touched everyone she met.
She grew up surrounded by the loving embrace of her siblings: Eduardo Olvera III, Virginia Rojas, Robert Olvera, the late Rosa Olvera, Sara Zavala, and David Olvera.
After Tecumseh High School, Doey channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into creating a thriving business, Big Daddies Excavation, which not only moved the earth but also uplifted the community. Her hard work and dedication were matched only by her compassion and her commitment to her family.
Doey was a true partner in life to her devoted husband, Rosendo Arteaga, and a guiding star to her sons, Javier, Eduardo, and Cristian Rojo. She extended her love and care to her daughters-in-law, Rona, Melissa, and Maria Rojo. But it was her role as "Grandma" to Rosa Marie, Joel Anthony, Julian Eduardo, Rebecca Virginia, Rachel Mary, Jeremiah Jorge, Josiah Cristian, Jaden David, Eduardo Jr., Sofia Bella, and Mateo Nico that brought her immeasurable joy.
Her interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. Whether it was the thrill of the casinos on weekends with her husband, siblings, and sons, or those long hours of shopping with her sisters, Doey lived each moment with zest. She was an unparalleled gift giver, pouring her love into every present, making every occasion memorable. Her grandchildren were the jewels in the crown of her life, with each moment spent with them treasured like the rarest of pearls.
Doey's spirit was characterized by three profound traits: she was loving, thoughtful, and faith filled. Her love was a shelter for her family, her thoughtfulness a blanket that warmed the hearts of friends, and her faith a beacon that guided her through life's storms.
In the words of the Apostle Paul, a sentiment that Doey held dear, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13). Indeed, Doey embodied this divine love, and through it, she found the strength to be the matriarch, the friend, and the confidant we all so admired.
We bid farewell to Dolores Olvera Rojo, our precious Doey, not with sorrow but with gratitude. Gratitude for the laughter, for the wisdom, for the tenderness, and for the unwavering faith she instilled in us all. Her legacy will continue to flourish through her family, her work, and the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit.
As we commend her soul to the Almighty, let us hold fast to the memories, the lessons, and the love she left behind. Though her physical presence is no longer among us, her spirit will forever dance in the gentle winds of Adrian and the vibrant sunsets of Irving, reminding us that love never dies, it merely transforms.
Doey's life was a testament to the power of love in action, a love that knows no end. And so, we release her with joy into the hands of our Lord, confident that she will watch over us until we meet again in glory everlasting. Amen
