Dloyd Dean Hedrick, loving husband and father, peacefully entered Heaven's gates in the early morning of September 24, 2010. He was surrounded by his wife of 61 years, his daughters and grand-daughters. From the sandy fields of northeast Texas, he began his life journey. He married Syble Jean Reynolds on June 8, 1949 and began a career in the art and publication department of Chance Vought Aircraft. As his success grew, Dloyd was selected to the Astronautics Division and became a part of the exciting space program of the sixties. He spent most his working years with LTV, but found time to paint and publish editorial cartoons in the local newspapers. As a young boy, Dloyd was not expected to survive his bout with rheumatic fever. The fever left him with a heart murmur and weak heart valves. He was broken-hearted when he was rejected by the Air Force because of this condition. Not to be deterred, he went on to obtain his pilot's license and own his own plane. During his retirement years, he became a real estate broker and author of several books. He loved to fish and farm his land in the country. Although he accomplished many things, his greatest accomplishment was being the rock of the family. He loved the Lord and he lived his life without reproach. We will miss you. Survivors: His wife, Jean; brother, Luther; children, Roger and his wife, Bridgett, Victoria and her husband, Rob, Lisa, Wendy; grandchildren, Misty, Jennifer, Chase, Shelby, Alexandra, Nick and Zoe; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Noon Monday, September 27, 2010 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless.
