Arthur David Cothren left this earthly world February 3, 2024. He was born on November 11,1938 in Belton, TX to Arthur Morris and Ruby Catherine. David grew up in Belton as a young boy before moving to Irving, TX and remained a resident there for the last 74 years. David had a 25-year career at General Motors as a Team Leader where he made many lifelong friends who nicknamed him "Big Dave". Over the years Dave took on various hobbies including fishing, motorcycle riding, and a love for classic cars. While being a part of the DFW Freedom Riders he was nicknamed "Cadillac". Daves passion for General Motors was ingrained in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his daughters Shannon Seymore, and Stacy Pickens and husband Erin, his sister Nell McPherson, and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Morris and Ruby Catherine, son-in-law Ray Seymore, sister Doris Wages, and brothers-in-laws, Hugh Wages and Mike McPherson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Colonial Funeral Home of Irving. The burial will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home. There are no gallery images.
