DARRELL WESTERENG, age 78, a resident of Irving for forty years, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center in Irving. Born October 1, 1936 in Morris, Minnesota, he was the son of Leighton John and Margaret Rudseuske Westereng. He served in the United States Army. He retired a branch manager for British Oxygen Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Irving. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Blanche of Irving; daughters, Andrea Greenwood and husband Curt of Utah and Christine Westereng of Irving; three grandchildren, Ashley, Gregory, and Garrett; one step-grandson Jason; a brother Leighton J. Westereng, Jr. and wife Gerry; and a sister Betty L. Griffin and husband Bob. A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2901 N. OConnor Road, Irving, TX 75062. Pastor Norma Cooper will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
