Dan was born on June 22, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and died on July 28, 2023, in Bedford, Texas, from complications of basal cell carcinoma[KG1] . He was surrounded by his loving sisters. During Dans 65 years on earth, he was a faithful servant of God, dutiful son and loving brother. He was the oldest of four children raised in Irving, Texas, by his parents Bette and Albert "Dick" Crawford. Bette and Dick instilled an ethic of hard work into their children. He attended Holy Family of Nazareth School, William B. Travis Middle School and graduated from MacArthur High School[KG2] in 1977. According to Dan, high school graduation was one of the best days of his life. After high school, Dan attended an apprenticeship program for sheet metal workers in Arlington, Texas. He spent most of his HVAC construction career in the DallasFort Worth area and left his mark on many high-rise buildings, including DFW International Airport. An avid gun aficionado, Dan enjoyed target shooting with his nephews and friends. He held impressive knowledge of military and firearm history and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. One of his favorite memories was hunting with his dad. Dan was close to his three sisters and looked out for them in their younger years. They spent many summers together in Pueblo, Colorado, with their grandparents and family. Dan loved to tell stories of the summers spent in Pueblo. Dan had a quick wit and big laugh that will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving sisters including Shawn Crawford Harris and her husband Larry; Lisa Crawford Chittenden and her husband John; and Susan Crawford and her wife Kathy; along with cousins, nieces, and nephews. A private family service celebrating Dans life was held September 2, 2023, in Irving, Texas. It was led by Father D. Eugene ODonnell, one of Dans childhood friends.
