Obituary

IRVING, TX and BRIDGEWATER, ME Connie L. DeLong went home to meet her savior, May 21, 2021, in Plano, Texas after a fall at her home. She was born December 29, 1942, in Bridgewater ME, the daughter of Harold H. and Frances (Barker) DeLong. After graduating from high school in 1961, Connie left her small hometown to move to the big city in Boston, Massachusetts where she started a 50+ year career for Prudential Insurance Co. Connie transferred to Atlanta and then later to Texas where she spent her remaining 19 years. She loved listening to gospel music and never missed a time when the Gaithers came to town. Connie also loved watching Jimmy Swaggart, going to church with her closest Texas friends, Mary Ellen, Wynonne and Virginia and praising her Lord! She was a greeter at Calvary Church and held a special fondness for the children who came through the doors. Connie was also a woman who had a fondness for going out to eat with friends and was particularly fond of the desserts she had to share with everyone. She would always say "bring extra spoons"! Connie is survived by her brother Wayne (Loretta) DeLong of Bridgewater, ME and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Harold (Leona) DeLong Jr., Weldon (Linda) DeLong, John (Rosemond) DeLong, Doris (Ashley, Roy) Hallett McKenzie, and Loretta (Ed) Hutchens. TEXAS memorial will be held at Calvary Church, 4401 N. SH 161 Service Road (at Walnut Hill) Irving, TX 75038 at 3:00 PM Monday July 12, 2021. SERVICES
