Claudette M. Aikin, 82, a long-time resident of Irving, died Friday, June 15, 2018, in Mansfield. Born September 29, 1935 in Kewanee, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Claudet and Dorothy Jane Wilson Moore. She married Harold G. Aikin June 30, 1951 in Dallas. She was a supervisor for Taylor Publishing Company in Dallas retiring in 2000. She was a member of Oakview Baptist Church of Irving. Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; a son Walter Murray Aikin in 1974; and her husband Harold G. Aikin, she is survived by her daughter Marlene Scholari and her husband Joe of Mansfield; a son, Matthew Alex Aikin of Irving; grandchildren, Jennifer Simmons, Jason Simmons and wife Wubalem and Courtney Scholari and husband Jason Roe; two great grandchildren, Julian Dunson and Jada Montgomery; and a sister Janice Smith of Henderson, Texas. The family received friends at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home Chapel from prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Dr. Jim Gerlach officiated. Entombment was at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. SERVICES
