CLARKE "PAPA" GRADY, age 89, a resident of Bedford for four years, formerly of Irving from 1959 to 2010, died Monday, June 2, 2014 in an Irving care center. Born January 3, 1925 in Oswego, Kansas, Clarke was the son of John Francis Grady and Marian Cecile Clarke. A U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, he was part of the forces landing at Utah Beach on D Day. On January 28, 1956, Clarke married Elizabeth A. Jones in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Bedford; daughter, Kathryn Grady of Dallas; sons, David Grady and wife Karen of Irving, Steven Grady and wife Yvonne of Dickson, Tennessee; grandchildren, Katy Grady and Kyle Grady, both of Irving, Megan Brown and husband Josh of Blaine, Tennessee; brother, Robert Grady and wife Brenda of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; and his sister, Sister Frances Marie Grady of Maggie Valley, North Carolina. A Rosary will be said 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 6 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne in Irving. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Church with Fr. Albert Becher as celebrant. Burial service 1:00 p.m., Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
