He married his first and only love, Esther Louise Reneau, on February 10, 1950, a few months after they graduated from Celina High School. He was a Korean War Veteran and served with the U.S. Navy for 4 years on the LST 975. After his discharge from the Navy, he became a Collin County Deputy Sheriff for 1 year (June 1955 June 1956). He then moved to Irving and was an Irving policeman from 1956 to 1969. In 1969, he became an Irving bank guard supervisor for 25 years and then retired. Otis enjoyed coaching YMCA football and River Bottom baseball in Irving. He was an outdoorsman who liked to coon hunt and catch fish with his hands. He was preceded in death by his son, David Otis Hundley and his wife Esther Hundley. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay (David) Watenpaugh of Euless and Kathy (Ron) Pilgrim of Grapevine; and daughter-in-law Kay Hundley of Sanger, Texas. Survivors also include 3 grandsons Michael (Katie) Milam, Devin Pilgrim, Logan Watenpaugh; granddaughter Karissa (Rob) Navitskas; great grandchildren Weston, Merrick, Everleigh, Nash, and Zandrick; brother and sister-in-law Merlin L (Margaret) Hundley and two nephews, Merlin and Marvin Hundley. Due to Covid19 restrictions, a grave-side service was held at Cottage Hill Cemetery. He always loved his hometown of Celina, Texas, and will be laid-to-rest there. He is home now!
