He passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at his residence in Irving, TX. Chris is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Sam, Joe, Aden and Emma. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Josephine "Josie" Pea. Children: Laura Morillos and her husband, Sylvester; Joe Pea; Elisa Ortiz and her husband Mario; Teresa "Teri" Pea; and Ruben Pea and his wife, Ana. Grandchildren: Joshua, Stephanie, Chas, Rachel, Nathan, Cynthia, Nicholas, Victoria, Alyah, and Christian. Great-Grandchildren: 1st Airman Ethan, Lily, Pete, Madison, Jezreel, Emilia, Ramiro, and Lilah. Siblings: Elizabeth Barron and Roy Pea. Chris was born in Robstown, Tx in 1942. After traveling up North to Michigan for work, on their way back to Corpus Christi, his family settled in the West Dallas, Tx area. It was there at Gabe P. Allen Middle School where he met the love of his life, Josie. The couple married in 1961 and started their own family in 1962. In 1965, Chris moved his wife and children to Irving, Tx. where he raised his family and his children grew up in the Irving Schools and Community. Chris worked in the Plastic Molding industry as a Machinist for 40+ years and retired at the age of 62. After retirement, he worked part-time security until the age of 67. Chris was a good soul, who found immense joy in Tejano music and Mariachi music and often sang along and danced. His love for Bud Light beer, his favorite restaurant, Tipicos, a good game of pool, cook-outs with family, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys were trademarks of his life. He instilled this same Dallas Cowboys spirit in his children, making them die-hard fans like himself. Chriss enthusiasm for fishing, camping at the lake, and deer hunting with his brothers, sons, and friends was a cherished tradition. Family vacations to visit family in Corpus Christi and Padre Island beach were also cherished traditions. Chris had a deep appreciation for history, often spending time watching the History Channel. His love for his truck, favorite camouflage jacket was matched only by his devotion to his Cowboy hat and boots. He was also a devoted fan of Western shows like Gunsmoke, Cheyenne, and Bonanza. Above all, Chris's greatest happiness came from being with his family. He was happiest surrounded by loved ones, and his presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed. As the family mourns his death, we take comfort in knowing he was respected by all and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We are blessed to have received so many kind words about our Dad and for that, we sincerely thank all of you.
