CHARLOTTE SWYDEN, age 90, a resident of Irving since 1963, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Grapevine. Born September 14, 1922 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Albert Thomas and Fannie Ann Larney Thomas. Charlotte attended Oklahoma University. On March 22, 1947, she married Phillip Swyden, Sr. in Gary, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her husband in July, 2003, by her brothers, Freddie and Tom, and daughter Gilda Daffin, she is survived by her son, Phillip Swyden, Jr. of Grapevine; granddaughters, Tabitha Bishop of Richardson and Brandi Brown of McKinney; great grandchildren, Gabriel Bishop, Dylan Brown, Layne Brown and Landry Brown; sister, Josephine Noel of Weleetka, Oklahoma; and brothers, Richard Larney of Henrietta and Samuel Larney of Arizona. A service will be held 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 18 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Shelter B, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas.
