Charles Edward Turnbo of Irving, Texas passed away at the age of 64 on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. He died of complications following a motor vehicle accident.
Charles was born in Dallas, Texas on August 30, 1955 to Melba Hackett and Joseph Turnbo. Through God's grace he was able to make it through childhood. The strong bonds he forged with his six siblings would remain throughout his life. Later in life he met the love of his life, Melba Jean Upton, while attending Bible Way Church. They married in April of 2001 and lived a happy and fulfilling life until she passed away in April of 2013.
Charles had a natural talent for mathematics, mastering geometry and trigonometry by the age of 13. Combining his love of math and his hard work ethic he became a skilled welder at an early age. He founded and ran Quality Welding until his retirement.
He was an active member of Bible Way Church for many years.
Charles was a charismatic and fun-loving person. He enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, and spending time with his family. He died as he lived: fiercely independent, cheerful and unafraid. He was intensely loyal to his friends and family and never turned down someone that was in need.
